Meet Doctor Bui
Minh-Phuong Bui, DMD
Dr. Minh-Phuong Bui was born in Sai Gon, Vietnam and came to Boston, MA with her family in 1991. After finishing a rigorous college preparatory curriculum at Boston Latin School, she entered Regis College and graduated Magna cum Laude with a B.A. in Biochemistry. Dr. Bui then attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
Dr. Bui decided to pursue a career in dentistry at a young age. While on summer vacation in tenth grade, she visited her aunt, who is a dentist, and got a chance to observe many aspects of dentistry. She made a decision to follow a career that not only help people improve their overall health, but also allowed her to incorporate creativity and innovation into everyday practice.
Growing up, Dr. Bui has always been deeply involved in community service. In addition to a full time curriculum at Tufts, she was able to squeeze in being a leader for the American Boys and Girls Scout, co-founder of a non-profit dance troupe, and being a news anchorwoman for a nationally broadcasted Vietnamese TV station. Following her roots in community service, Dr. Bui went on to do a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at South Cove Community Health Center in Boston. During the residency, she was able to treat an array of patients ranging from preventative care for kids, to cosmetic procedures for young adults, to providing supportive therapy for wheelchair-bound, medically compromised geriatric patients.
Since graduating from dental school, Dr. Bui has attended many conferences and continuing education courses including lectures and hands-on courses about the newest technologies in Implant dentistry, root canals, periodontal therapy and cosmetic dentistry.
When not practicing, Dr. Bui spends time with her dog Tank, snowboarding, or cooking and trying out new recipes.
